This guide is a working reference to Title IX and campus disciplinary procedure for students on both sides, their advisors, and the institutions that administer these processes. It sets out the statutory and regulatory architecture, the implied private right of action and the damages standards that govern institutional liability, and the retaliation doctrine that frequently outperforms the underlying claim. Procedural chapters follow the case from report through supportive measures, formal complaint, notice, investigation, evidence access, informal resolution, hearing, determination, sanction, and appeal, identifying at each stage what each party may demand and what a well-run process looks like. Separate chapters treat the standard of proof, questioning and the advisor of choice, emergency removal, and the difference between public and private institutions, where constitutional due process gives way to contract. Further chapters address the parallel criminal case, education records and transcript consequences, non-Title IX conduct and academic integrity charges, disability accommodations in discipline, and K-12 procedures. An institution-side chapter and reference tables close the guide, with all authorities linked to their text.
