Pricing & Plans
Three subscription plans, billed monthly or annually, each with its own annual discount. Search and read the public corpus without an account.
Frequently asked questions
Is there really a free tier?
Yes. Anyone can search and read the public legal corpus; a free account raises the visitor preview to a larger daily research quota and adds saving, comments, and cross-device sync — no card required.
Do subscriptions renew automatically?
Yes — monthly plans renew each month and annual plans each year. The auto-renew consent box at checkout (checked by default) and the toggle in your profile both turn renewal off, and the plan then ends when the period you already paid for runs out.
Can I change or cancel my plan?
You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel at any time from your profile, which opens the secure billing portal. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; access continues until then.
Where does payment happen?
On uplaw.us — the checkout form opens on the pricing page. Payments are processed by Stripe, and card details go directly to Stripe; they never touch UpLaw's servers.
What's the difference between the tiers?
Economy unlocks unlimited primary-law research with citation tools, docket tracking, and summaries. Business adds the practical-law library — guides, checklists, toolkits, forms — plus IP filings and citation-graph analysis. Professional is the full platform: ALFIE and Ask UpLaw, Brief Check, judge and court analytics, expert Q&A answers, and the complete corpus.
How does the annual discount work?
Each tier has its own annual discount — 10% on Economy, 15% on Business, and 20% on Professional — applied to twelve months billed up front.
Do you offer team or enterprise plans?
Yes. Contact the sales team for seat-based pricing, invoicing, and onboarding for firms and in-house teams.
Is UpLaw a law firm?
No. UpLaw provides legal information and tools, not legal advice, and no plan creates an attorney–client relationship. See the Disclaimer for details.
