There is established in the Department of State the position of Assistant Secretary of State for South Asian Affairs. The Assistant Secretary shall be appointed by the President, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate. (1) Repealed. Pub. L. 103–236, title I, §162(c)(3), Apr. 30, 1994, 108 Stat. 405.
