(a) In General.—Before a space major defense acquisition program achieves Milestone B approval, or equivalent, the milestone decision authority shall determine whether the classification guidance for the program remains appropriate and— (1) if such guidance is determined to be appropriate, submit to the congressional defense committees a certification of such determination; or (2) if such guidance is determined to be inappropriate, initiate an update to such guidance. (b) Definitions.—In this section: (1) The term "Milestone B approval" has the meaning given such term in section 4172(e)(7) of this title. (2) The term "major defense acquisition program" has the meaning given such term in section 4201 of this title. (3) The term "space major defense acquisition program" means a major defense acquisition program for the acquisition of a satellite, ground system, or command and control system.
