For the purposes of this article, pupils in grades 7 and 8 attending a junior high school maintained by a high school district shall be deemed to be in attendance in the schools of the elementary district of residence.

Cal. Educ. Code § 41935 — Allowances for Project Connected Pupils is in force in the current edition of the Code, and nothing recorded condemns it.
