A decision, statute or rule that is still valid authority: no later court has overruled, reversed or vacated it and no later enactment has repealed or superseded it. "Good law" is always a statement as of a date, and a citator can only report what its sources record — the absence of a flag is not itself a finding that an authority is good law.

Good Law. Example: Before quoting the 1998 opinion in her brief, she checked the citator to confirm it was still good law.
