MAGILL, Circuit Judge. In this case a jury found that the City of Corning, Arkansas wrongfully fired Way-land Taylor for exercising his first amend*901ment rights, and awarded him damages. The district court then granted defendant's motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict. We examine whether the district court was correct in granting defendant’s motion. We conclude that the district court erred and accordingly, we reverse.
